2020 sees a wave of new hotel openings across the globe, and we’re already aware of a few in 2021 that we’re even more excited about, but have to remain tight-lipped. But here’s a round-up of just a few that have caught our eye.
Pullman Maldives Maamutaa Resort
Let’s start with a hotel we’re actually just a few weeks away from visiting. The latest Accor property in the Maldives certainly is impressive. The all-inclusive resort, featuring 122 stunning villas, is situated just miles away from the equator, and one of the furthest south resorts you can find. A quick plane hop from Male, you are greeted at an airstrip just a 15 minute boat-ride away to a pristine Atoll where luxury is the catch of the day.
With a variety beach and overwater villas, including two aqua villas with underwater bedrooms (only the second Maldivian resort to offer such a treat!) and a Royal 4-bedroom villa, there’s something for everyone. But on the island comes all the bells and whistles anyone could want on a honeymoon, and being a premium all-inclusive resort, guests can enjoy 6 different dining and bar outlets including a vegetarian restaurant, Phat Chameleon. Stay tuned for our in-depth Hot Hotel review in just over a month.

Six Senses Shaharut, Israel
Six Senses Shaharut is nestled into a dramatic cliff in the Negev Desert. This inspired location named Shaharut, which translates as the moment just before dawn, adds yet another dimension to the portfolio of incredible natural settings that Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas calls home. The resort is a 3.5 hour drive from Tel Aviv or Jerusalem, or just 45 minutes transfer to the resort from new international airport, Ramon.
To the south of the Negev Desert, which covers more than half of Israel, at the Arava Valley, is the small community of Shaharut, where traditional desert hospitality is expressed by generosity of spirit. This is the site of Six Senses Shaharut, just 60 suites and villas occupying a footprint of approximately 46 acres (18 hectares) including a Six Senses Spa.
